Hopfensperger, Frank (17 July 1888 - 3
Sept. 1954)
Funeral services for Frank Hopfensperger,
66, who died Friday afternoon at his home, were held at 9:30 a.m.
Monday at St. Bernard’s Catholic church, with the Rev.
Raymond Schulz officiating. Burial took place in the Dorchester
cemetery.
The pallbearers were Walter Boss, Gay
Graffunder, Ed Krousie, John and Joe Pinter and George Schultz, all
neighbors of the deceased.
Mr. Hopfensperger was born July 17, 1888,
in the town of Harrison, Calumet county. He received his education
in the Holy Angels Catholic school at Darby. On Feb. 18, 1909, he
was married to Lena Jackmann, at Appleton, and in 1915 they came to
their present farm. He had been in poor health for some time but
death came unexpectedly about 2:00 o’clock when he was doing
some chores in the barn.
He is survived by his widow, five sons,
Lawrence, Abbotsford; Harvey, Wausau; Harold, Kaukauna, Vilas,
Harvey, Ill.; and William, Menomonee Falls; three daughters, Mrs.
Bernard (Margaret) De Bruin, Black Creek; Mrs. Roman (Esther)
Thiel, Appleton; and Mrs. Harvey (Irene) Van Dyke,
Kaukauna.
There are 21 grand children and two great
grand children.
Also surviving are seven brothers,
William, Stratford; Peter, Junction City; Herman, Iola; Alex,
Neenah; and Harry, Raymond, and Eugene, all of Appleton; four
sisters, Mrs. Lena Ellard, Iola; Mrs. Gertrude Wallace, Green Bay;
Mrs. Tresha Cevene, Fond du Lac; and Mrs. Anna Schaefer, Appleton.
All of the above attended the funeral with the exception of Mrs.
Lena Ellard, Iola.
Three children and five brothers and
sisters preceded him in death.

Alex Hopfensperger and family, Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cevene, Fond du Lac; William Hopfensperger, Rozellville; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wallace, Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hopfensperger, Junction City; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hopfensperger and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bangart, Menasha; Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Hopfensperger and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hopfensperger, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. William Bangart, Kaukauna; and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hopfensperger, Hilbert.
