Venzke, Stella (Marriage - 23 Oct. 1954)

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schauer will make their home on Second Street in Abbotsford when they return from a wedding trip. Their marriage took place Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Bethlehem Lutheran church at Milan. Miss Stella Venzke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Venzke, Milan, and Donald Schauer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schauer, Abbotsford, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony read by the Rev. H. Malotky, of Edgar. Her father presented her in marriage.

For the ceremony, the bride wore a gown of nylon tulle over satin with a lace bodice designed with a sweet heart neckline. She wore a three-strand pearl necklace and pearls were used in the train that held her finger tip veil. Her shower bouquet was an arrangement of pink roses, white pompons and stephanotis.

Two nieces of the bride, Helen Denzin, Abbotsford, and Jane Tischendorf, Milwaukee, were flower girls. They wore white frocks of net, little hats and carried tiny colonial bouquets of white gladioli and yellow chrysanthemums.

Miss Pat Zahorka, a friend of the bride, wearing mint green, was maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids, in frocks of dusty rose, were Miss Delores Ewan, Athens, and Miss Betty Jane Dumm, cousin of the bride, Stetsonville. Their floor length gowns were of net over satin with a matching net pleated head piece. They all carried colonial bouquets of white gladioli and yellow chrysanthemums.

Willard Schaer, brother of the groom, best man, Robert Nelson, St. Paul, and Jim Venzke, McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita, Kansas, a brother of the bride, attended the groom. Ushering the wedding guests at the church were Orin Kramer and Orville Barkow, both of Abbotsford.

About 200 guests attended the reception held at the home of the bride’s parents and the supper served at the church basement.

Both young people are graduates of the Abbotsford high school. Mr. Schauer is employed by the Kraft Foods Company at Milan.
