Funeral services for Mrs. Edgar Brown, 63, who died Friday, were held Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Bernard’s Catholic church. The Rev. Raymond Schulz sang a requiem high mass and conducted the grave-side services at the Abbotsford cemetery. 
 

Pallbearers were Alvin John, Charles Brey, Harris Jolivette, Lloyd Nobel, Charles Raabe, and Kenneth Ingersoll. 
 

Mrs. Brown was an invalid for a number of years and was admitted to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Wednesday and died there Friday afternoon at 5:00 o’clock. A rosary service was held Sunday evening at the Zink Funeral Home where the body lay in state. 
 

Bertha Schmitt was born March 17, 1891 in Probstau, Czechoslovakia, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schmidt. Mr. Schmidt came to Marshfield in June, 1900, and the first of November came to Abbotsford. On the following Feb. 18, Mrs. Schmidt and daughter, Bertha, came here. She attended the Abbotsford school until she was 14 years old. 
 

Her marriage to Edgar Brown took place during World War I years. They had three sons, the youngest died at the age of 11. 
 

Surviving are her sons, Frank, of Marshfield; and John, who lives north of Spokane, Washington. Her father, Frank Schmidt, also survives. Grandchildren surviving are the two sons and one daughter of the Frank Browns and five daughters of the John Browns.
