Grammer, Beverly (Marriage - 28 Dec.
1954)
Miss Beverly Grammer, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Theodore Grammer, of Colby, and A-3C Clyde Peissig, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Franklin Peissig, of Dorchester, exchanged marriage vows,
Tuesday morning, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby. The
Rev. V. E. Schwartz read the double ring ceremony at 9:00
o’clock, followed by a nuptial high mass.
The bride, presented in marriage by her
father, wore a floor length gown of white net over satin. The
bodice, with its long sleeves, was made of lace with net yoke. Her
lace edged veil was held by a tiara of mother of pearl. She carried
a lover’s knot bouquet of white satin ribbon and garnet
roses.
Miss Mary Dona Grammer was her
sister’s maid of honor. Miss Idelle Bowen, Curtiss, and Miss
Marilyn Peissig, Chippewa Falls, cousins of the groom, were
bridesmaids. They were all dressed alike in floor length gowns of
bright red designed with tiered skirts of nylon net and velvet
jackets. In their hair, they wore an arrangement of holly leaves
and red berries. They all carried crescent shaped bouquets of white
pompons with dark green satin ribbons.
Attending the groom was Valarion
Marciniak, of Antigo, and Dale Bowen and Jimmy Peissig, of Curtiss,
cousins of the groom.
Mrs. Grammer, mother of the bride, wore a
gray suit and black accessories, accented by a corsage of red
roses. Mrs. Peissig, mother of the groom, chose a mauve dress with
black accessories and a corsage of pink roses.
Following the ceremony, a wedding
breakfast for the bridal party was served at the bride’s
home. A reception was held in the afternoon and in the evening the
bridal couple greeted friends at a wedding dance at Memorial hall,
Dorchester.
Guests from away at the wedding were from
Chippewa Falls, Merrill, Oregon, Marshfield, Athens, Greenwood,
Wausau, Medford, and Minneapolis.
Both young people are graduates of the Abbotsford high school. The groom is stationed at Scott Field, Belleville, Ill., and the bride is employed at Wausau at Employers Mutuals Insurance office.
