Clifton, Percy (9 JUN 1880 - 29 JUL 1954)
Funeral services are being planned for Saturday afternoon for Percy Clifton, retired businessman and pioneer resident of the City of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).
Mr. Clifton passed away this morning at the Rest Home in Arpin where he had been for the past several weeks. He had been in failing health for the past year.
Services will be conducted at two o’clock from Griebenow’s Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Meinhardt, pastor of the First Congregational Church, Owen, officiating. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Dearth, Neal Laine, Julius Johnson, Charles Schmocker, Wallace Hull and William Mattson.
Percy Clifton was born on June 9, 1880 in New Richmond, Wis. He came to Owen more than 40 years ago, serving the community for years as a barber. About eight years ago he retired to a small farm he owned north of the city where he and his wife have since made their home.
