Fahrenbach, Mr./Mrs. William (50th Anniv. - 25 July 1954)
Many friends and relatives helped Mr. and Mrs. William Fahrenbach
of Curtiss, celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday,
July 25.
A buffet lunch on the lawn was served in
the afternoon for relatives and open house was held in the evening
for friends.
Out of town guests came from Iron
Mountain, Michigan, Medford, Sugarbush, Marshfield, Withee, Cudahy,
Colby, Schofield, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Mound, Minnesota; Fort
Sheridan, Illinois.
William Fahrenbach was born in Germany,
November 7, 1874, and when he was about seven years old, came to
Taylor county. Mrs. Fahrenbach was born Mary Dunow, December 12,
1880, near Curtiss. They were married at Stetsonville, July 26,
1904, and for the first years of married life, operated the hotel
at Stetsonville. Then they farmed a few years in Taylor county
after which they operated a hotel in Curtiss for about 28 years.
This they sold to Franklin Peissig.
The Fahrenbach’s had nine children:
a son, Elroy, lost his life in service in World War II. Their eight
children were present for the celebration of the golden
anniversary: Mr. and Mrs. Wade (Margaret) Wredman, Schofield; Mr.
and Mrs. Orville (Lillian) Lieders, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
(Irene) Witt, Curtiss; Sgt. and Mrs. Paul (Minnie) White, Fort
Sheridan; Mr. and Mrs. Eldred (Evelyn) Schraufnagel, Abbotsford;
Miss Bernice Fahrenbach, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. William Fahrenbach,
Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fahrenbach, Curtiss.
Also present were the nine grand
children: Orville Lieders, Jr., Abbotsford; Miss Dolores Lieders
and Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Maureen Lieders) Schraufnagel, St. Paul;
Harvey Witt, Jr., and Miss Jean Witt, Curtiss; Billy and Paul
White, Ft. Sheridan; and the Misses Kathleen and Patricia
Fahrenbach, Curtiss.
Two brothers of Mr. Fahrenbach, both of whom has also has golden anniversaries were present: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fahrenbach of Medford, and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Fahrenbach of Ironwood, Michigan. Otto Dunow, Curtiss, only living brother of Mrs. Fahrenbach, was also present.
