Funeral services for Donald Walter
Anderson, 17, who died Sunday morning, were held Wednesday
afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Presbyterian church at
Abbotsford. The Rev. Richard Harrison officiated at the rites
during which Mrs. Myron Greaser and Miss Alice Pollack sang
"Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Light of Home." Mrs. J. F.
Samson was the accompanist.
Pallbearers for the internment, made in
the Abbotsford cemetery, were Marvin Broeske, Allan Brunkhorst,
Roger Kramer, Jack Armstrong, Bob Stacke, and Dennis Foster. These
young men were all members of the American Legion baseball team,
managed by Kenneth Anderson, father of Donald.
Carrying the flowers were the Misses
Sandra Danielson, Donna Anderson, Donna Gosse, Mildred Leichtnam,
and Sue Hartzell.
Donald Walter Anderson was born Nov. 12,
1937, at Abbotsford. Due to a birth injury, when he was 7 years
old, he was taken to the Northern Colony at Chippewa Falls. He
suffered a heart attack and died there Sunday morning at 7:30. The
body was brought here to the Zink Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his mother,
the former Mildred M. Fults, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fults,
of Abbotsford, Sept. 20, 1945.
Surviving him are his father and
step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth M. Anderson, two sisters, Mrs.
Clarence (Geraldine) Geary, Jr., Abbotsford; and Betty, at home;
two brothers, Kenneth A. and Robert Anderson, of Eau Claire; and
his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fults, Abbotsford.
Among relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James Fults, Sr., and Roy Heagle, Stanley; Dr. and Mrs. A. H. Fults, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Becker, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Schunk, Mrs. Rueben Wagner and daughter, Dawn, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Becker, Marshfield; Mrs. Peter J. Becker and Mrs. Grace Nicks, Owen; and Mrs. Clarence Geary and daughter, Curtiss.
