Stowe, Otis Sumner (30 May 1895 - 7 July
1955)
Funeral services for Otis Stowe were held
Monday, July 11, at the Alliance church, Owen. The Rev. H. D.
Wagner, pastor of the church, officiated at the church and Mrs.
Lillian Jensen conducted graveside rites at the East Beaver
cemetery where internment was made.
Acting as pallbearers were William and
Lewis McNitt, Martin Larson, Clarence Nelson, Elmer Jensen and Ole
Hanson. In charge of the flowers were nieces, Mrs. Robert Crase,
Mrs. Fred Smith and Miss Arlene Twing.
Otis Sumner Stowe was born May 30, 1895,
in the town of Beaver. He died at St. Joseph’s hospital in
Marshfield, July 7, 1955, following major surgery.
He lived for many years in the town of
Beaver, then moved to Warner, Longwood and Mayville, where he
farmed up until the time of his death.
On Oct. 28, 1916, he was married to Ruth
Thwing in a ceremony performed in Beaver.
He leaves his wife, sons Melvin of Bloomer and Harold of Curtiss, one daughter, Mrs. Clara Vine of Evansville, Wis., and nine grandchildren. One son, Lawrence, preceded him in death. He was killed in action during World War II on May 5, 1945.
