Funeral services for Adolph Gustav
Kalepp, 81, who died Christmas morning, were held Wednesday
afternoon at the Zink Funeral Home. Many relatives and friends
attended the 2:00 o’clock rites conducted by the Rev. F. H.
Sprengler, of Christ Lutheran church.
During the services, the Misses Dorothy
and Marilyn Kieser sang "Rock of Ages," and "Jesus, Lover of My
Soul."
Six grand sons served as pallbearers for
the internment made in the Dorchester cemetery. They were Lavern,
Donald, Lloyd, Harold, Jr., Du Wayne, and Gerald Kalepp.
Six grand daughters carried flowers: the
Misses Bonnie, Bernice, Shirley, Hazel and Jane Kalepp, and Mrs.
Harold Kalepp, Jr.
Mr. Kalepp was born in Saxony, Germany,
Jan. 30, 1874 and when he was six years old he came with his
parents from Germany and settled on a farm east of Dorchester. He
resided here until he moved to Abbotsford about 25 years ago and
operated a tavern which has been taken over by his son, Norman, and
son-in-law, Gilbert Kattre.
On Oct. 12, 1902, he was united in
marriage to Minnie Sauter, of Dorchester. To this union, eight
children were born.
Mr. Kalepp had been in ill health for
more than four years and death came at his home at 3:00 a.m.
Sunday.
Surviving him are his widow and five
children: William, Harold, Norman, and Mrs. Gilbert (Alice) Kattre,
all of Abbotsford, and Clarence, of Dorchester, one sister, Mrs.
Rose Ritz, North Bend, Oregon; and one brother, Herman Kalepp,
Butte, Mont.; 16 grand children and one great grand
child.
Three children, Dorothy, Gladys, and
Gordon, preceded him in death in infancy. Three sisters and two
brothers also preceded him.
Relatives and friends attending the funeral came from Green Bay, Milwaukee, Park Falls, Wausau, Spencer, Athens, Dorchester, Hammond, Marshfield, Edgar and Abbotsford.
