Dietrich, William, Mrs. #2 (29 MAY 1871 - 17 NOV 1954)

Mrs. William Dietrich, a resident of this community for the past 25 years, was placed in her final resint place in trout Run Cemetery at Black River Falls, on Saturday, Nov. 20^th.  Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational Church, Owen, with Rev. C. E. Guthrie officiating.

Friday evening Eastern Star services were held at Griebenow’s Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were Stephen Zeman and George Zeman, Melrose; Earl Horswill, Axel Odeen and Garth Wenzel, Black River Falls, and William Horswill, Menomonie, Wis.

Mrs. Dietrich passed away at her home on route 1, Owen, on Wednesday, Nov. 17^th, 1954, succumbing to a heart condition from which she had suffered for several months.  She was 83 years of age, having been born May 29, 1871, at Black River Falls, Wis.

After graduating from the Black River Falls school system, Mrs. Dietrich, nee Klein, attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison.  On Feb. 1, 10-1 she was united in marriage to William Dietrich in a ceremony performed at Black River Falls.  Previous to moving to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and settling on their farm south of the city in Sept. 1929, she and her husband lived at Champaign, Ill., and Crookston, Minn., where Mr. Dietrich served terms as Professor of Animal Husbandry at the Universities of Illinois and Minnesota and alter resided at Charles City, Ia., and Preston, Minn., where he served as a county agricultural agent.

During the time Mrs. Dietrich spent in this community she endeared herself to a host of friends by the warmth of her pleasing personality and activities in the Congregational Church work, the Owen Chapter of the Eastern Star Lodge and the White Shrine of Jerusalem at Eau Claire.

Sharing in the grief and loss of this true and dear friend are her husband, a daughter, Norma of Madison, and a son, Manfred at home.  Four sisters and three brothers have preceded her in death.
