The Very Rev. Msgr. Thomas F. Hayden, 39, of St. Louis’ Catholic church, Dorchester, was stricken with a heart attack Sunday morning, while preparing for mass. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where he died a half hour after his arrival. 
 

Msgr. Hayden was a native of Marshfield. He was ordained a priest in 1941 and served as spiritual director and later as rector at Holy Cross Seminary at La Crosse. 
 

After a period of convalescence, following a heart attack suffered at the seminary in January, of 1952, he was appointed pastor of the Dorchester parish in July, 1952.
