Peter, William (18 Mar. 1881 - 23 Jan. 1956)

Funeral services for William Peter, who died Monday, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at Christ Lutheran church, after which internment was made in the town of Frankfort cemetery. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated at the services during which the Misses Dorothy and Marilyn Kieser sang "Beneath the Cross of Jesus," and "The Lord Is My Shepherd."

William Peter was born at Warsaw, Poland, March 18, 1881, and came to Chicago in 1907. The same year he was married to Mrs. Anna Braun. Three sons and one daughter were born to the union. Mrs. Peter died in 1929.

His second marriage took place on April 25, 1937, when he and Mrs. Ida Stallman were united in marriage in the town of Frankfort. They then came to Abbotsford to make their home. She preceded him in death, June 13, 1954.

Mr. Peter had been in ill health for some time and was a patient at St. Joseph’s hospital until a few days before his death when he was taken to Mount View Sanatorium, Wausau.

Surviving him are two sons, Reinhold Peter, Beaver Dam; and Paul Peter, Chicago; and a step-son, Hugo Schafrick, of Stratford. There are eight grand children and two great grand children.
