Kauffman,

Funeral
services for Mrs. Wesley Kauffman, 82, who died Monday, were held
this afternoon at two o’clock at the Presbyterian Church, of
which the deceased was a member. The Rev. T. Clifford Hay
officiated at the rites and at the Abbotsford cemetery where
internment was made.
Pallbearers
were grandsons of the deceased: Donald Kilty, Charles and Lewis
Gurney, Lavern and Maynard Kauffman, and Edwin Frome.
Grand
daughters carried the floral offerings. They were the Misses
Lucille and Barbara Gurney, and Sandra, Sharon, and Darlene
Kilty.
The body lay
in state at the Zink Funeral Home until noon today when it was
taken to the church.
Mrs.
Kauffman was born Hattie Fosnow, Nov. 2, 1873, in the town of Aken,
Richland county, Wisconsin. She was married there, Oct. 4, 1894, to
Wesley Kauffman.
For several
years after their marriage they farmed in Graham, Iowa, and then
came to Wisconsin where they continued farming until 1927 when they
came to the village of Abbotsford.
Mrs.
Kauffman underwent surgery last fall and has been in poor health
since. She was readmitted to St. Joseph’s hospital,
Marshfield, Thursday, and died there at five a.m. Monday.
She is
survived by her husband and five children: Louis, of Milwaukee;
Donald, of Abbotsford; Fred, of Unity; Mrs. George (Elma) Gurney,
of Neillsville; and Mrs. Joe (Elsie) Fleischman, of
Abbotsford.
There are 17 grand children and 11 great grand children. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Elsie Eaton, of Richland Center; and one brother, John Fosnow, of Beloit.
