Kalepp,
Bonnie Lu (Marriage - 15 June 1956)
Candles
outlining the altar and aisle of St. Peter’s Lutheran church,
Dorchester, provided the setting for the candlelight marriage
ceremony of Miss Bonnie Lu Kalepp and Eugene Polzin on Friday
evening at 8:00 p.m. Flowers were used to complete the decorations
in the church. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated.
The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kalepp, Dorchester, and the
groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Polzin,
Plainfield.
The dress
chosen by the bride for her wedding was made of tiers of lace and
tulle over ice blue satin, forming a short full train in the back.
The bodice, of lace over the same ice blue satin, was fashioned
with a V-neck and long lace sleeves coming to points over her
hands. A pearl tiara held her finger tip veil, edged with lace. She
carried a bouquet of orchids and carnations. A double strand of
pearls at her throat and pearl earrings, gift of the groom,
completed her ensemble.
Her
attendants wore floor length gowns in different shades of blue. The
dresses were made alike, with tiers of gathered net over taffeta.
They carried bouquets of white and varying shades of pink
carnations, and their head bands also were made of
carnations.
Miss Bernice
Kalepp, Milwaukee, was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Rosemary Polzin, Green Bay, sister of the
groom and Delores McLee, Medford, a friend of the bride. David
Bliese, Wausau, a friend of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were
John McCully, Shawano, also a friend of the groom, and Lloyd
Kalepp, Dorchester, brother of the bride. Kenneth Kalepp, a cousin
of the bride, and Douglas Polzin, brother of the groom, acted as
ushers.
Mrs.
Cantweel, Shawano, organist, accompanied Mrs. Smith, also of
Shawano, as she sang, "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s
Prayer."
Reception
for 100 guests at the home of the bride’s parents followed
the ceremony. Flowers were used to complete the blue and white
decorations in the home.
The bride
graduated from the Abbotsford high school and is a 1955 graduate of
the University of Wisconsin. She taught mathematics at the Shawano
senior high school during the past year. Mr. Polzin graduated from
Central State college, Stevens Point, in 1952, and is a coach and
math teacher at the Shawano Junior high school.
Following a
wedding trip to Niagara Falls and the Great Lakes area, the couple
will be at home at 112 N. Franklin St., Shawano, after July 1.
Guests were from Shawano, Madison, Wausau, Lodi, Plainfield, Medford, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Clintonville, Ogdenburg, Stoughton, Chicago, and Highwood, Illinois.
