Jensen,
Gloria (Marriage - 7 July 1956)
Miss Gloria
Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Jensen, Eau Claire, became
the bride of Kenneth A. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth M.
Anderson, Abbotsford, in a candlelight ceremony Saturday
evening.
The Rev.
Herbert Juneau officiated at the ceremony, which took place at 7:30
p.m. in Our Redeemer Lutheran church, Eau Claire.
The
bride’s gown was made with an elongated torso bodice
appliquéd with Chantilly lace. The floor-length skirt, made
of tulle over taffeta, with a curved band of lace encircling it,
extended to form a chapel train. A contour crown of Chantilly lace,
with touches of iridescent sequins and pearls, held her finger-tip
veil of imported illusion. She carried a bouquet of Amazon lilies
and stephanotis.
Mrs. Bill
Geary, Prairie du Chien, the groom’s sister, was matron of
honor, and two friends, Miss Janice Biskey, Elk Mound, and Miss
Nancy Mierow, Eau Claire, were bridesmaids. They were dressed alike
in dresses of pink brocaded cotton. They were made with long torsos
and full, ballerina-length skirts. They wore matching pink shoes.
Their doll-type satin hats had circular veils and their cascade
bouquets were made of Burgundy carnations.
The groom
was attended by George Nikolay, Oxford, as best man, and Robert
Anderson, brother of the groom, Abbotsford, and Garth Jensen,
Melrose, the bride’s brother. Bill Geary, Prairie du Chien,
the groom’s brother-in-law, and Jim Steffen, acted as
ushers.
A reception
was held in the church parlors following the ceremony. The young
couple left later on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and
Canada. After July 5, they will make their home in
Abbotsford.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Anderson are graduates of Wisconsin State college at Eau Claire. The groom is a coach at Auburndale high school, and the bride plans to teach a kindergarten class in Marshfield next fall.
