Thieme,
Laverna (Marriage - 7 July 1956)
St.
Paul’s Lutheran church, Curtiss, provided the setting for the
marriage at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon of Miss LaVerna
Thieme to Wilfred Arthur Marcott. The Rev. Krause
officiated.
The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thieme, Owen, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Marcott, rt. 1,
Dorchester.
Miss Annette
Thieme, Owen, was her sister’s maid of honor. Mrs. Robert
Marcott, sister-in-law of the groom, and Mrs. Richard Mengel,
sister of the bride, were bridesmaids. Miss Susan Marcott, sister
of the groom, was flower girl.
The
bride’s white gown was floor-length, as were the gowns of all
the attendants. The attendants were dressed alike in white, and
carried yellow and white carnations. Beaded headdresses completed
their ensembles.
Donald
Marcott, rt. 1, Dorchester, was his brother’s best man, and
Robert Marcott, Abbotsford, another brother, and Richard Mengel,
the bride’s brother-in-law, were groomsmen.
A reception
and dinner at the home of the bride’s parents followed the
ceremony. A wedding dance at Dorchester Memorial hall in the
evening completed the day’s festivities.
The groom, a graduate of Abbotsford high school, was separated from the army security agency on June 15. The bride is a graduate of Owen high school.
