LaVon Leona (Marriage - 7 July 1956)
The Rev. F.
H. Sprengler heard the nuptial vows said by Miss LaVon Leona
Doberstein and Steve Louis George Saturday noon in St.
Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorchester.
The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Doberstein, Dorchester, who
were residents of Abbotsford for many years. The groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Louis George, West Allis.
Miss Donna
Doberstein, Dorchester, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the
Misses Rachel Mehner, Milwaukee; Lois Nyre, Medford; and Rae Ann
Doberstein, Dorchester. Nancy Doberstein and Judy George were
junior bridesmaids.
Best man was
Gordon Schief, Dorchester, a friend. Gary Doberstein, Medford; Bill
Schafer, Eau Claire; and David Ludwig, Stetsonville; were the
groomsmen. Ushers were two cousins of the bride, Fred Doberstein,
Jr., and James Doberstein.
Herbert
Juneau, Abbotsford, played and sang traditional nuptial music for
the ceremony.
The
ceremony, attended by a number of guests from Abbotsford, was
followed by dinner in the church basement and a reception in the
club house.
The bride
graduated from Dorchester high school and the Accredited School of
Beauty Culture. The groom is a graduate of Nathan Hale high school,
West Allis, and Utah state college, Logan, Utah.
The new Mr. and Mrs. George will live in West Allis until the opening of the fall school term. They will then move to Dorchester, where the groom will be a teacher and coach.
