Herbert
Calkins, 68, died Friday, Oct. 12, of coronary thrombosis at the
Clark County hospital, at Owen, where he had been the past 34
years.
He was born
in Wisconsin in 1888 and formerly lived at Abbotsford.
Funeral
services were held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock at the
Zink Funeral Home, after which internment was made in the family
lot at the Abbotsford cemetery. During the services, conducted by
Mrs. Lillian Jensen, of the Assembly of God church, two hymns were
sung by Dick Kennedy, "Abide With Me," and "Be Still, My Soul."
Mrs. Rueben Mantik was the accompanist.
Pallbearers were Earl Kramer, Dick Kennedy, Rueben Mantik, Ben Merwin, M. C. Thompson, and H. O. Zink.
