Gayken, Minnie #2 (1889 - 17 DEC 1954)

 

At two o’clock Wednesday afternoon funeral services were held for Mrs. Minnie Gayken who passed away Friday at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Gayken, at Portland, Ore.

 

Services were conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, Owen, and burial was made in the Pine Hill, Cemetery at Curtiss.

 

Mrs. Gayken, nee Aldinger, was married to Weert Gayken on Jan. 3, 1910, at Britt, Ia.  In 1915 the couple came to a farm in Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.) Township where she lived until the death of her husband Feb. 14, 1945.  The past two years she had lived in the village of Curtiss.  A month ago she left to spend the winter with her son in Portland, Ore.

 

Surviving are two other sons, Lee Gayken, Portland, Ore., and Clifford Gayken, Curtiss, two daughters, Mrs. Franklin (Frances) Peissig, Curtiss and Mrs. John (Ida) Rumminger, Owen, and 16 grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers included three grandsons, Clayton and Clyde Peissig, and Dale Bowen, Archie Ackerman, Otto Dunow and Walter Lipprandt.  In charge of the floral offerings were Mesdames Robert Mattson, Pat McCarson, Mather Murphy and Walter Lueth.
