Ostlund, Harold (1896 - 26 DEC 1954)
Harold Ostlund, 58, succumbed to a heart illness which had plagued him for the past two years, at his home in Superior at 11 p.m. Dec. 26th, 1954.
Funeral services were held this morning at 10 o’clock from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in the Town of Holway with Father Seebolt saying the requiem mass. Burial was made in the parish cemetery where military services were conducted by members of the VFW and American Legion Posts of Owen.
Serving as pallbearers were Leonard Hamm, George Hamm, Jr., George Hamm, Archie Hamm, Charles Rahn and Walter Maki.
Last night friends and relatives of the deceased gathered at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home in Owen and said the Rosary.
Harold Ostlund was born in Superior in 1896 and made his home in that community practically all of his life. A veteran of World War I, he returned to Superior where for the past many years he was successfully engaged in business serving the community as their Standard Oil Co. bulk agent.
In 1921 he was united in marriage to Inez Ackerman who survives him, as does one son, Donald, serving with the armed forces in Washington, D.C., one sister living in Superior and two brothers, Fred of Superior and George of Lake Nabagaman.
