Minor, Mrs. S. R. (Oct. 13, 1846 - Sept. 1, 1910)

Mrs. S.R. Minor died last Thursday at her home on South Hewett Street after a long period of sickness.  She was born at Minerva, Essex County, New York on Oct. 13, 1846, to Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Hewett.  She came to Neillsville with her parents in 1865, and was married to S.R. Minor on Oct. 30, 1867.  Four children were born to them, Mrs. Ida Van Ryzin, Mrs. Gertrude Mews, Mrs. Mildred Theobald and Mary, who died in infancy.  She is survived by her three daughters, her hasband and a sister, Mrs. Daniel Gates.

Mrs. Minor was a woman of exceptional qualities.  She was kind and charitable and lived a life replete with kindly deeds and kindly thoughts.  The funeral was held from the family residence Saturday afternoon and interment was made in the Neillsville cemetery.
