Garbisch, Richard (8 October 1886 - 8 October
1952)
Richard Garbisch, 66, died at his home in Salem,
Mo., on Wednesday following a heart attack.
Funeral services were conducted at the Gilbertson
Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon with the Rev. R. Banks Blocher
officiating. Burial was made in the Windfall
Cemetery.
Mr.
Garbisch was born in the Town of Grant on October 8, 1886, to John
Richard and Dorothy (Schrieber) Garbisch . Following the
death of his father he made his home with two of his sisters, Emma
and Minnie Garbisch in Milwaukee, and attended school there.
He attended Concordia College and at the age of 16 went to
Marshall, Minn., and farmed there. On March 3, 1913, he was
married to Lura A. Nolton at Shakopee, Minn. In 1918 they
moved to a farm in the Town of York, where they resided three
years; then moved to Rochester, Minn., and in 1928 to Salem, Mo.,
where he spent the rest of his life.
He
is survived by his wife, one son Arnold, of St. Louis, Mo., and one
daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Fern) Gunter of St. Louis; also four
grandchildren, one brother, Paul Garbisch of the Town of Grant, one
sister, Mrs. Emma Campbell of Duluth, Minn.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and five
sisters.
Pallbearers were Martin, Alfred, Victor, Edward, and Melvin Garbisch and Carl Sternitzky.
