Svetlik, Mary (25 January  1886 - 20 January 1952) 
 

Mrs. Frank Svetlik, Sr., of 1009 Prospect Street, Neillsville, died on Monday morning at St. Luke’s Hospital, Milwaukee, from complications following surgery.  Mrs. Svetlik was visiting her daughter, Mrs. Lohr, in Milwaukee when she was taken ill. A general rosary was said at the Bergemann Funeral Home on Tuesday at eight o’clock. 
 

A solemn requiem high mass was read at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 9 o’clock on Wednesday morning, the Rev. Father Peter Zic officiating.  Interment was made in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery at Cadott. 
 

Mrs. Svetlik, the former Mary Sedlacek, was born January 25, 1886, in Czechoslovakia. When she was five years of age she came to this country with her parents and they lived at Fargo, N. D., for a short time, after which they moved to Jim Falls. 
 

On January 19, 1904, she was married to Frank J. Svetlik, Sr., at Cadott and resided there until 1947, when they moved to Neillsville.   
 

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society, the Royal Neighbors of America, the Women’s Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic, and the American Legion Auxiliary.   
 

She is survived by the following children: Victory Svetlik of Los Angeles; Mrs. John (Lillian) Marx of Appleton; Mrs. Louis (Marion) Kehr of Effingham, Ill.; Frank Svetlik, Tony Svetlik and Charles Svetlik, all of Neillsville; Mrs. George (Martha) Yakish of Winona, Minn.; Mrs. Milton (Caroline) Lohr of Milwaukee; Sister Mary Bartholemew, S.D.S., of Wausau; and Thomas of Cody, Wyo.; also 32 grandchildren, and five brothers: Joseph Sedlacek, Frank Sedlacek, of Drywood, Wis.; Rudolph Sedlacek of Chippewa Falls; John Sedlacek of Drywood; and Charles Sedlacek of Milwaukee; and two sisters: Mrs. Barbara Dvorak of Chippewa Falls and Mrs. Henry (Carrie) Scheideler of Medford.   
 

Mr. Svetlik preceded her in death May 5, 1952, and one son, Louis, had also died.
