Miss Marilyn Jean Rueden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rueden, of Dorchester became the bride of Eugene Gloudeman of Loyal in a double ring ceremony performed at St. Louis Catholic church in Dorchester at 10 o’clock Thursday morning, June 13. The Rev. Fr. Philip T. Weller read the nuptial high mass, with singing by the church choir.

The bride chose a gown of white satin and ninon with yoke of the fitted bodice embroidered with seed pearls. Her full length double net veil was held to an open cornet of pearls, and was edged and trimmed with deep inserts of lace. Her jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet of red roses.

Miss Gertrude Gloudeman of Chicago, sister of the groom, was maid of honor, and Miss Betty Gloudeman of Milwaukee was bridesmaid. Both wore gowns of white marquisitte  over satin, with matching headdress. They wore identical single-strand pearl necklaces, gifts of the bride, and carried colonial bouquets of white carnations and sweetpeas.

Robert Rueden, brother of the bride, was best man, and Bernard Gloudman of Milwaukee, brother of the groom, was groomsman.

The bride’s mother wore a dress of black silk, with a corsage of pink roses. Rose corsages were also worn by the bride’s sister and Miss Esther Westphal.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for the immediate relatives and friends, where dinner and supper were served. A center piece of red roses and sweetpeas, accentuated by candles in crystal holders and a three tiered wedding cake decorated the wedding table. A dance was held at Colby in the evening.

The bride graduated from the Abbotsford high school in May, and the groom is engaged in farming. Upon return from a honeymoon at Milwaukee and Chicago, they will reside at the groom’s farm home near Loyal.
