Miss Annie F. Walter of Chicago, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Walter of route one, Granton, became the bride of Frank J. The bride chose the 24th wedding anniversary of her parents as her own wedding day. Given in marriage by her father, she was attired in a long white gown, fashioned with a fitted bodice and sweetheart neckline and long sleeves forming a point over her wrist. The skirt of silk taffeta, with sheer nylon overskirt, ended in a long train, and her long veil, edged with lace, fell from a beaded tiara, set with rhinestones. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and a white prayer book, and she wore pearls.
The matron of honor, Mrs. John Fojt of Chicago was attired in a gown of blue taffeta with net overskirt. The bridesmaids, Misses Florein and Rosalind Schecklman of Milwaukee, cousins of the bride, wore dresses identical to that worn by the matron of honor, except that they were in yellow and pink, respectively. They wore matching wreaths of net in their hair and carried bouquets of pink roses and their heart-shaped lockets, gifts of the bride.
John Fojt, brother of the groom served as best man. The other attendants were Joe Fojt Jr., another brother, and frank Walter, brother of the bride.
For her daughters\’s wedding, Mrs. Walter wore a navy blue dress, trimmed with white lace and a shoulder corsage of pink carnations. Mrs. Fojt also wore dark blue with pink carnations.
Following the ceremony, a reception for about 100 guests was held at the York town hall, which was decorated with blue, yellow and pink streamers. A four tier wedding cake made by the bride’s aunt, Miss Ann Walter, formed the centerpiece for the bride’s table. The afternoon was spent in dancing. Arnold Knoll of Lynn furnished the music. A shower and wedding dance were given that evening in Marshfield..
The bride, a graduate of the Loyal high school, with the class of 1944, has been employed by the Western Electric Company of Chicago for the past six months. The groom, who spent about 45 months in service, returned last December and has been employed by the Phoenix Metal Cap Co. in Chicago for the past six months. They will reside in Cicero,Ill.
