Wilding, Myron E. (I17 APRIL 1870 - 08 JULY 1946) (* if paper published
Thursday)
Death came at 1 a.m. Monday to Myron E. Wilding, long and prominent figure in Clark county affairs. He died at his home in Neillsville, after an illness of several months.
Born in a log cabin in the town of Grant on Apr. 17, 1870, he was "bound out" to a farmer at the age of 11. Later he was employed in this vicinity and purchased 80 acres in the town of Loyal, where he lived for a time. He moved into the village as a young man and was employed at the Graves sawmill here. Still later he was engaged in the business of buying and shipping livestock.
He served the village of Loyal as trustee for two years and was village trustee for two years and was village treasurer for three years, and in 1908 he was elected as treasurer of Clark county, holding that office for two terms, before being elected county clerk, a post he retained for many years.
After leaving public office, he entered the insurance business, in which he continued for the remainder of his life. He served as secretary of the Clark County Fair Association for more than 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ida. His first wife and their daughter, Hazel (Mrs. H. L. Brown) preceded him in death.
