Spaete, Ruth Lorraine (Marriage - 25 October
1952)
The Donald Albert Meihaks, newlyweds are now at home on Neillsville Route 1, where the young man will continue his work on the Carl Spaete farm. The couple spent their honeymoon in Southern Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois.
The marriage took place at St. John’s
Lutheran Church October 25, with the Rev. Alfred Schewe officiating
in the double ring ceremony.
The bride, Ruth Lorraine Spaete, who ws given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of ballerina length featuring lace scallops over a sating bodice. Her pure silk veil was trimmed with seed pearls and it fell from a seed pearl head dress. She carried a bridal bouquet of red roses and white mums.
Miss Lorraine Smith, a friend of the bride, acted
as her maid of honor and Mrs. Clarence Meier, aunt of the groom,
was her bridesmaid.
Dale Meihak served as his brother’s best
man and Clarence Meier as groomsman. Lawrence Spaete and
Albert Meihak, brothers of the bride, and groom,
ushered.
Monna Lou Meihak, sister of the groom, was flower
girl.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in
the basement of the St. John’s school. The room was
decorated with pink, gold and white steamers.
Guests from out of town attending the ceremony included Mr. and Mrs. Murell Williams and family, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spaete and family of Maquoketa, Ia.; Mrs. Augusta Roberts, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Meihak, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Strebing of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meier, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Beyer of Mineral Point.
