Hemlock
Mrs. M. B. Warner has been quite sick this week.
The social at Varney's was a failure, there being only about six present, which was owing to the weather.
George Andrews preached in the hall Sunday.
Birdene Anderson began her first term of school Monday in the Alton district.
C. W. Dewey and wife took in the fair last week.
George Warner drove to Withee Monday on business.
Dean Wallis thinks stage driving isn't what it's cracked up to be, when he has to ford the river with the water running over the horses' backs. We had no mail from the north one day, he being unable to ford the river. Another time he had to go east from Warners' corners to come out by Longwood. It isn't pleasant to say the least.
