Scranton, Raymond (6 OCT 1891 - 11 MAR 1954)
Raymond F. Scranton of Eagleton passed away last Thursday morning at the Eagleton Rest Home north of Chippewa after a short illness.
Mr. Scranton was born Oct. 6, 1891, in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and was united in marriage to Miss Della LaRose of Chippewa Falls in 1911. The couple moved to Owen where he was employed in the planning mill. In 1912 they moved to Holcombe on a farm and in 1939 moved to Hagerstown, Maryland, and lived there until moving to Chippewa County in 1949 where they since resided.
He has been employed as an attendant at the Eagleton Rest Home for the past 15 months.
He was a member of the Church of Christ of Holcombe.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Wesley Keska of Minneapolis; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Tweder of Chicago, Mrs. Josephine Blegen of Milwaukee, Mrs. Gertrude Brown of Longview, Wash., and Mrs. Elva Dreese of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Erving of Seattle and Melvin of Washburn; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at the funeral chapel on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. C. O. Johnson of the Cadott Gospel Tabernacle officiating.
Interment was made in the Holcombe Cemetery.
