Altenburg, Allen C. #2 (1898 - 17 MAR 1954)

Allen C. Altenburg, 56, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls Wednesday night about an hour and a half after he had a heart attack.

He was returning home from Eau Claire where he had a medical checkup in the afternoon and had been told he wouldn’t have to come back for three months.  He had just returned from a month’s vacation in Hollywood, Fla., on Sunday morning.  He had gone south after recent surgery.

He had been a Ford dealer in Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) for 32 years, president of the State Bank of Withee, and had resided in Owen for the past 15 years.  He was past president and director of the Meadowview Country Club, and was active in civic affairs.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, James and Eugene at home.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church at Owen with the Rev. R. E. Ortmayer of Chippewa Falls officiating.  Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.
