Lemke,
Sherin Rose (Marriage - 29 Dec. 1956)
Mr. and Mrs.
Robert O. Bowen are now residing in Madison, Wisconsin. Their marriage took
place at Medford at St. Paul’s Lutheran church at 2:00
o’clock, Saturday, Dec. 29.
Parents of
the bride, the former Sherin Rose Lemke, are Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Lemke, of Medford. Mrs. Ethel Bowen, Curtiss, is the mother of the
groom.
For her
wedding, the bride chose a combination of red and white in keeping
with the holiday season for her attendants, Miss Linda Mueller, of
Medford, maid of honor; Miss Idelle Bowen, the bridegroom’s
niece, bridesmaid; and her own niece, Patty June Lemke, as junior
bridesmaid.
Their full
skirted dresses were of red velvet, with tucks outlining the
off-shoulder necklines. White fur headpieces and muffs of the same
material with sprays of holly completed their ensembles.
Floor length
lines featured the bridal gown of crystalette; its scalloped
neckline was detailed with embroidery and seed pearls and sequins,
and the long sleeves came to points over the wrists. Her French
illusion veil cascaded from a coronet of seed pearls and iridescent
sequins, and she carried a spray of rosebuds to complete her
ensemble.
Mr. Bowen
was attended as best man by Hilarian Michlig, of Curtiss, and the
bride’s brother, David Lemke, of Medford, was groomsman. Her
nephew, David Prohaska, was junior groomsman, and another brother,
Russell Lemke, served with Orlando Ackerman as usher.
The bride is a 1956 graduate of Medford high school and is employed in Madison by Rural Farm Mutual. Her husband, a student at the University of Wisconsin, was graduated from Abbotsford high school and served three years with the U.S. Coast Guard.
