Behrents,
Ruth E. (Marriage - 8 June 1957)
A gown of
white brocade was chosen by Miss Ruth E. Behrents to wear as she
became the bride of Ernest L. Solberg Saturday afternoon at the
Christ Lutheran church. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler read the 1:30
service.
The former
Miss Behrents, of Prairie du Chien, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Einer A. Behrents, Abbotsford. The groom is the son of Mrs. Anna
Solberg, Ferryville.
The
bride’s dress of white brocade was ballerina length, made
with a V-neck and short sleeves. Her veil was shoulder length, and
the bouquet she carried was made of white carnations, red roses and
stephanotis.
The maid of
honor, Miss Phyllis M. Behrents, wore a gown of turquoise brocade
styled like her sister’s. She carried white carnations and
red roses.
Murie
Tisthshammer, Milwaukee, nephew of the groom, served as best man.
Ushers were Arleigh Hansen, South Wayne, cousin of the bride, and
Peter Tisthammer, Jr., nephew of the groom.
Miss Elsie
Bush, Dorchester, sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "At Dawning,"
accompanied on the organ by Herbert Juneau,
Abbotsford.
A reception
was held at the home of the bride’s parents, after the
ceremony.
Before her
marriage, the new Mrs. Solberg was Crawford county home agent in
Prairie du Chien.
Following a wedding trip in northern Wisconsin, the couple will be home on Rt. 2, Ferryville, where the groom farms.
