Shilling Station

The town board were looking over the road north of P. Christopherson Saturday with the view of putting in two culverts, but the ground was so wet that the job was postponed until next spring.

Mrs. Geo. Harlow is visiting with her parents, Mr. White and wife of the Twenty-six road, some of the folks being sick.

Thomas Vine, Frank Nutting and G. Phillips are off for a bee hunt on the north fork of the Eau Claire river. We expect they will return very sweet.

A special school meeting was called last week in the Larson district for the consideration of building a wood shed and having a well dug. It was postponed for two years, but the old wood shed was repaired.

S. R. Kelley is at work again hauling stone for the Popple river bridge. His back is alright now.

Albert Stabnaw has his new house almost finished. It is a nice little building painted brown.

Ernest Vine is at work in Ashland and Mrs. Vine now somewhat resembles a grass widow. Such is life in the far west.

Albert Stabnaw talks of going into the sheep raising business, providing he can secure sheep to start with. We think he will find it a paying investment.

Henry Grass is cutting wood and clearing land for Albert Stabnaw.

Will Stabnaw has a job of turnpiking sixty rods of the road south of the Brown farm.

John Larson found a bee tree north of the Brown farm. He smiles a very sweet smile indeed, as such is the effect of honey when plentifully applied.
