Funeral services for Mrs. Eugene (Edith) Laurent, 45, of Medford, who died of cancer Tuesday, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Hoepfer-Kraut Funeral Home, Owen. Burial will be made in the Danish Lutheran cemetery at Withee. 
 

Mrs. Laurent taught in the Abbotsford grade school and last Thanksgiving time entered St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, for surgery. She was at her home in Medford until a few weeks ago when she was admitted to the Medford Clinic where she died early Tuesday morning. 
 

The former Edith Candahl was born in Denmark on Dec. 22, 1911 and was married to Eugene Laurent on Nov. 16, 1944 at Curtiss. She came to the United States with her parents when she was a young girl, settling in the Owen area. 
 

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Caroline Candahl, Owen; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Van Zile, Sturgis, Mich., and a brother, Ernest, of La Crosse.
