Over 100
relatives were guests at dinner Saturday, in observance of the
golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz, of Colby.
A family style dinner was served at the city hall, after which a
reception was held at the Schwartz home.
Present for
the occasion were their three sons and three daughters: Eddie, La
Crosse; Selma, Colby; Mrs. Arvid (Clara) Carlson, Abbotsford; Mrs.
Adolph (Anna) Behnke, Cecil; Elmer, Lodi, California; and Harvey,
Dorchester; and all of the 14 grand children, except Pfc. David
Carlson, who is in Germany, and the two great grand children were
also present.
Three of the
attendants at the wedding were present for the golden anniversary.
They are Mrs. Anton Boxrucker, Frank Ludwig and Mrs. Alma Stimm, of
Medford. The fourth attendant, Eddie Wolf, Dorchester, is
deceased.
A brother
and four sisters of Mrs. Schwartz were present: William Wolf, Mrs.
Anna Wilke, and Mrs. Emma Tauchen, Dorchester; Mrs. Art (Elsa)
Bruesewitz, Auburndale; and Mrs. Anton (Ella) Boxrucker,
Medford.
Numbered
among the guests were nieces and nephews of Mr. Schwartz, who is
the last member of a large family. They were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
McRae and family, Oak Park, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. William McRae,
Ashland; and Miss Ruth Emerson, Milwaukee.
Other relatives here for the occasion were from Owen, Curtiss, Oshkosh, Wausau, Auburndale, Tomahawk, Milwaukee, White Plains, N.Y., and Florida.
