The Rev. and
Mrs. F. H. Sprengler, who have been in the service of Christ
Lutheran church, Abbotsford, and St. Peter’s Lutheran church,
Dorchester, for the past 11 years, observed their 25th
wedding anniversary over the past week end.
They were
married at Thorp, Wis., Aug. 31, 1932. In observance of their
anniversary, the Sprenglers had a reception Sunday afternoon for
some of their relatives, culminating in a 5 o’clock supper,
at which the wedding cake, a gift of Miss Elsie Bremer and her
mother, Mrs. Pauline Bremer, was cut by the honored
couple.
In the
evening, about 150 members of Christ church and St. Peter’s
church gathered at St. Peter’s church to honor their pastor
and his wife in an anniversary service. The Rev. Krause of Green
Grove gave the address, with Donald Sprengler the liturgist and
Miss Shirley Sprengler at the organ.
After the
service, a reception was held in the church basement, at which time
a cash purse was given to the couple and a lunch served by the
members of the congregations. At this time, a second wedding cake,
made by Mrs. Henry Gumz, was cut.
Corsages and
boutonnieres, presented by their children, were worn by the Rev.
and Mrs. Sprengler, the bridesmaid, Miss Helma Roessler of Chippewa
Falls, Wis., and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Buss of
Stanley. The best man, the Rev. John Melchert, of Cologne, Minn.,
could not be present for the occasion.
Others who attended besides the congregations, were Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Sprengler of Norcross, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Theo Sprengler, Cologne, Minn., Mrs. Amalia Rolf, Norwood, Minn.; Robert Buss, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Hans Knutson and Miss Florence Johnson of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. John Barth, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Roesler, Mr. William Roesler, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Rossmann and family, Thorp, Miss Bettey and Orlene Barth of Milwaukee; and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Genrich of Dorchester.
