1957)
Mrs. Cleo Loos, 55, was fatally injured in a car
accident, Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The mishap occurred on Highway 151,
north of Sun Prairie, while she was enroute to Madison from
Juneau.
According to reports, the right front wheel of
Mrs. Loos’ car went off the pavement and in attempting to
bring the car back on the pavement, it shot across the highway into
the path of an oncoming car. Mrs. Loos was pronounced dead upon
arrival at a hospital. The two occupants of the other car were
injured but their condition was reported as not
critical.
Funeral services for Mrs. Loos were conducted at
Madison at the Frautscht Funeral Home, Monday evening. On Tuesday
morning the body was brought to the Presbyterian church at
Abbotsford where it lay in state until the afternoon when the Rev.
Richard Pritchard, of Madison, held services at 1:30 o’clock.
Herbert Juneau was organist and accompanied Mrs. G. C. Chronquist,
of Marshfield, who sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd," and "In Heavenly
Love Abiding."
Military rites were conducted at the Greenwood
cemetery where internment was made beside the body of her husband
who preceded her in death in November, 1954.
H. T. Ketcham and M. C. Thompson of the American
Legion, Hanson-Terrio Post No. 139, were color bearers. Harold
Amacher and Clarence Viegut, of the National Guards, served as

and Louis Janda, Abbotsford. The firing squad was provided by the
American Legion Post of Greenwood.
The pallbearers were Clayton Afkend, Donald
Armstrong, Darrell Bobbe, Maurice Hutt, George Vetter and Raymond
Wollert. The many beautiful floral tributes were in charge of the
American Legion Auxiliary and the Eastern Star.
