Lawrence (25 Dec. 1882 - 28 Sept. 1957)
Lawrence
Rees, 74, died Saturday, Sept. 28, at Memorial hospital, Wausau,
where he was a patient for several weeks. Funeral services were
held the following Tuesday at Plainfield where Mr. Rees was born.
At the funeral home, services were conducted by a Methodist
minister. Mr. Rees, who was an active Mason for over 50 years, was
also accorded Masonic rites.
Relatives
who accompanied Mrs. Rees to Plainfield were Mr. and Mrs. M. R.
Stewart, of Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. John Bauer, of South St.
Paul, Minn. Friends attending the services from Abbotsford, were
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fults, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hingiss and Mr. and
Mrs. Harvey Bitter.
Lawrence
Rees was born Dec. 25, 1882, at Plainfield, and was married there
to Maud Kelly, May 7, 1907. They operated a bakery at Plainfield
and later at Greenwood. More than 20 years ago they came to
Abbotsford where they also had a bakery.
They
continued to live here after his retirement about ten years
ago.
Surviving him are his widow and one sister, Mrs. Edith Murphy, Appleton.
