Lueth, Rodney Robert (4 July 1944 - 14 Nov.
1957)
Funeral services for Rodney Robert Lueth, 13, who
died Thursday afternoon in an accidental hanging while playing
cowboy, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at St.
Paul’s Lutheran church, Curtiss, with the Rev. Theodore C.
Predoehl officiating.
Pallbearers for the internment, which was made in
Pine Hill cemetery, were: Jack Jensen, Walter Krause, Harold Laabs,
Jerry Laabs, John Rucks, and Allen Singstock.
The flower girls were the Misses Sandra Jensen,
Cathy and Patsy Fahrenbach, and Patricia
Schindler.
Rodney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lueth, Jr.,
was born July 4, 1944, and lived all his life in Curtiss. Recently,
he made his home with his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lueth, as his
parents were in Milwaukee.
Rodney, reportedly a good student at the Curtiss
State Graded school, had come home after school, Thursday, and had
gone out to play. After he failed to come back to the house, a
search was instituted and the body was found in the barn about 4:00
o’clock by his cousin, Mrs. Elmer Lueth.
Plans had been made by the father to take his son
deer hunting this season in northern Wisconsin, for which
arrangements had been made.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his
maternal grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lenser, Curtiss; and his
paternal grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Lueth,
Abbotsford.
Many friends attended the funeral. Relatives from away who came included the parents, from Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lenser, Menomonee Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lenser, Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Art Seehafer and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Seehafer, of Marshfield.
