Keller, Rollie Edwin (15 May 1897 - 4 Dec. 1957)

Rollie Edwin Keller was born May 15, 1897, in the town of Lynn. On April 21, 1920, he and Miss Clara Lawson were united in marriage in Marshfield. They lived on a farm for two years and then came to Abbotsford where Mr. Keller assisted his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Keller, in the restaurant business. He then bought a bowling alley which later burned to the ground. He operated various taverns in the village and for a time was at Spencer, after which he returned to Abbotsford. For three years, he had a tavern at Menasha and returned here in 1945 as Mrs. Keller was seriously ill.

Mr. Keller had been in failing health since the death of his wife in November, 1945, and a year ago suffered a serious illness. Ten weeks ago he was admitted to St. Joseph’s hospital, at Marshfield, where death, caused by a kidney ailment, came at 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

Mr. Keller was active in baseball in Central Wisconsin, both as a player and manager, and was instrumental in organizing a city team here.

He is survived by three children, Mrs. E. W. (Lorraine) Faudel and Ralph Keller, Round Lake, Ill.; and Sylvia Keller, and his mother, Mrs. Herman Keller, Abbotsford. There are three grand children, Ralph and Cynthia Keller and Bruce Faudel.

He also has four sisters, Mrs. C. H. (Lorna) Schaefer, Abbotsford; Mrs. Ed (Verna) Garbish, Mrs. Lester (Adeline) Schaffer, and Mrs. William (Elma) Lyles, all of Milwaukee.

He was preceded in death by his wife and father.
