Prokopinski, Felix (18 JUN 1891 - 2 MAY 1954)

 

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10:00 o’clock Thursday morning, May 6 for Felix F. Prokopinski, 63, who died of a heart attack at his home here on May 2, 1954.  Rev. Francis Piekarski and Rev. Zoromski officiated at the services and Legionnaires of Cecil Tormey Post No. 118 of the American Legion accorded military honors and services at the grave.

 

Felix F. Prokopinski was born in Poland on June 18, 1891.  He came to the United States at an early age and was married to Ann Paczkowski in 1920 at St. Hedwig’s Church at Thorp.

 

In 1921, he moved to Waterbury, Conn., then to Detroit, Mich.  In 1924, before coming to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1938 to locate on a farm in the Town of Withee where he lived until death.

 

He was a veteran of the first World War and a member of the local American legion Post.

 

He is survived by his wife, Ann, three sons, Edward and Leonard of Thorp, and Eugene in the U.S. Army in Korea; two brothers, Joseph of Minneapolis and John of buffalo, N.Y., and two granddaughters.

 

Burial was made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers were American Legion members, Leif Larson, Frank Sierociuk, Tom Polnaszek, Hjalmar Brandsness, Wm. W. Wagner and Wilfred Vanderhyden.
