Garbisch, Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Golden - 1953)
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Garbisch celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their home in the Town of Grant on Christmas day. Dinner guests at the Garbisch home included all of their children and their families, namely: Victor of Loyal, Mrs. Hilda Marg of Superior, Mrs. Joseph (Leona) Tucker of Superior, Mrs. Emmanuel (Anita) Romang, of Athens, Mrs. Elmer (Agnes) Marg of Granton and Frederick on the home farm, 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A huge tiered wedding cake was the centerpiece for the bride and groom’s table. It was appropriately decorated in gold.
Mr. Garbisch also observed his seventy-fourth birthday anniversary on that day.
Open house was held in the afternoon for
neighbors and friends and approximately 200 persons called on
them.
They received many beautiful and useful gifts
including a kitchen set from the children, a platform rocker from
the grandchildren and a table lamp from the
great-grandchildren. The neighbors presented them with a
beautiful bouquet of chrysanthemums in a gold vase, and a floor
lamp. They received a large sum of money and many other
gifts.
