Gubeli, Martina M. (22 MAY 1954)

Miss Martina Mae Gubeli, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Gubeli of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Milton Leonard Berg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew O. Berg of Northfield, Minn., in a ceremony performed at 4:00 p.m. on May 22^nd, 1954 by Father Ernest Kaim at St. Mary’s Czestochowa (Junction).

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of rose point with lace bodice and long sleeves, sheer yoke, nylon net over satin with a lace edged nylon net overskirt.  She wore a French illusion veil with rose point lace cap edged with seed pearl orange blossom and her wedding bouquet was of gardenias centered with white roses and carnations in a spray.

Francis Winters of Northfield served as best man and Miss Dorothy Berg as bridesmaid wore a dress of pink with lace bodice and jacket with nylon net over pink satin skirt and lace panel down the front.  The maid of honor, Miss Barbara Gubeli was attired in a similar costume of nylon net over blue satin skirt with a lace panel down the front.  Both wore flower headpieces and carried colonial bouquet of carnations.

Mildred Gubeli, as bridesmaid, wore a dress of yellow with lace bodice and jacket and net tiers over satin.

Also, attending the groom were his brothers, Cliff and Oswald Berg.

The groom’s mother wore an attire of gray and navy blue with white accessories and the bride’s mother navy blue with white accessories.  The bride’s grandmother wore a grey dress with black and grey accessories.  All three ladies wore corsages of roses and carnations.

The reception for the couple was held at St. Mary’s Hall and was attended by many friends and relatives from Rochester, Winona, Zumbrota, Wanamingo, Webster, Northfield, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Tracey and Wadena, Minn., and Thorp, Stanley, Withee, owen, Chippewa Falls, Rice Lake, Clayton and Turtle Lake, Wis.

After their honeymoon, to be spent in northern Wisconsin, the newlyweds will be at home to their friends at Northfield, Minn., where the groom is employed as a foreman and parts manager.
