Neillsville, died of a heart attack at the Christie Store
Wednesday, January 21, at 12:45 p.m.
Mr.
Miller who had made his home for the past four years with his son
and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miller, who operate the
Christie Store, was born August 26, 1876, at Coleville, Washington
County. At the age of four he came to Clark County with his
parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Pete Miller, and settled on a farm
six miles northwest of Greenwood. He received his education
in the Markman School, now the Benjamin School in the Town of
Warner and was married to the former Ethel Knox.
Mr.
Miller farmed and also did masonry work until four years ago, when
he moved to Christie.
He
is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arleigh (Eva) Olson of
Blanchardville; two sons, Donald of Christie, now a patient at St.
Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield; and Delbert of Edgerton; nine
grandchildren; a brother, W. F. Miller of Greenwood, and a sister,
Mrs. Henry Mattausch of Owen.
His
parents, three brothers, Albert, Edward and Arthur Miller, and a
sister, Louisa, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon,
January 24, at 1:30 at the Stabnow Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at
West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev. Charles
Koch officiated at the rites. Burial was made in the West
Side Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: -- Edwin Johnson, Otto Fravert,
Otto Reineking, Ted Kuester, Ben Schwellenbach and Jesse
Richmond. The senior choir, accompanied by Mrs. Alvin Alberts
on the organ, sang.
People from away who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Olson, daughters, Patricia, Deanne and Karen, of Blanchardville; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Miller, sons, Gary and Richard, of Edgerton; Henry Mattausch, Mrs. Lydia Miller, Edgar Wendt, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schwarze and Mrs. Dave Churkey, all of Owen; and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Karnitz of Neillsville.
