Roessler, Otto (17 March 1876 - 26 January
1953)
Otto Roessler, 76, of 206 Park Street, died at a
Madison hospital on Monday, January 26, following an illness of one
year.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday
afternoon at two o’clock from the Georgas Funeral Home with
the Rev. Charles Witt of Marshfield officiating. Interment was made
in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr.
Roessler was born on March 17, 1876, to Mr. and Mrs. August
Roessler in Jefferson County. He came to Clark County with
his parents when he was four years old. They located on a farm in
the Town of Grant. He assisted his father in the lumber and
carpenter business for several years. He was employed in the West
for several years before opening a lumber business here in
1917. In 1927 he sold his business to the Fullerton Lumber
Company and returned to the West where he operated a lumber yard
for one year. He then returned and operated lumber yards at
Chili and Greenwood until his health failed last
year.
In
1912, he was married to Anna Perwitz at Neillsville. She preceded
him in death in 1934.
He
is survived by his two sons - Clarence Roessler of Marshfield and
Dr. Robert Roessler of Madison; one sister, Emma Roessler of
Neillsville; three grandchildren; two brothers - Ernest Roessler
and Lewis Roessler. One sister, Mrs. (Amilia) Hunter is
deceased.

Funeral services for Otto Roessler were held
Wednesday, January 28, at two o’clock at the Georgas Funeral
Home with the Rev. Charles Witt of Marshfield.
Pallbearers were: Edward Hillert, Henry Braatz,
Harold Pischer, M. H. Zilisch, Frank Meihack and N. J.
Toptine. Floral offerings were in charge of Rose Meihack and
mrs. Harold Pischer.
Wilfred Galstad, the soloist, was accompanied by
Mrs. Florence Counsell.
Persons from out of town attending the rites included Clarence Roessler, Louis C. David and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dahl of Marshfield, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Roessler, Madison, Phelps Spry, William Happe, A. J. Lang of Chili, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Perwitz, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kracht of Lake Mills, Mrs. Paul Pirwitz, Mrs. Gil Sweet, Max Wegner and Mrs. Al Specht of Marshfield.
