Lenz, Hugo Robert (26 January 1879 - 15 February 1953) 
 

Funeral Services for Hugo Lenz, 74, prominent Eaton Center farmer, were held Wednesday, February 18, at the Trinity Lutheran Church.  The Rev. Walter Schedler officiated.  Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. 
 

Mr. Lenz died Sunday, February 15, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, where he underwent surgery on February 12. 
 

Hugo Robert Lenz, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Lenz was born January 26, 1879, at Johnsons Creek, Dane County.  He received his education at Columbus, Wis. where he was married on November 11, 1903, to Ida Elisabeth Lewke.  Mrs. Lenz died six weeks ago, January 5.  After their marriage they lived in Columbus for three years, coming to Greenwood October 26, 1906. They lived on the present farm 3 ½ miles south of Greenwood.

Mr. Lenz, who lived here for 46 years, was treasurer of the Town of Eaton and supervisor from this township for three terms, a member of the Eaton Center school board for 25 years and also held office in the Trinity church council.  
 

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Louise Warnke of Greenwood and Mrs. Allen (Bethel) Christopherson of Hartford; five sons - Roy, Arnold and Loren of Oconomowoc; Wilbur of Greenwood and Donald at home; nine grandchildren; one brother, Henry Remus of Marshall; two sisters, Mrs. Martha White of Marshall and Mrs. William Lewke of Columbus; one step-sister, Mrs. Ida Spark of Huron, S. D.; one step-brother, Irvin Remus of Marshall. 
 

He was preceded in death by three step-brothers, Edward Remus, Fred Remus and Richard Remus.
