Teatz, Mrs. August (29 September 1864 - 15
February 1953)
Mrs. August Teatz died February 15, 1953, after a
few days illness.
Born in Germany on September 29, 1864, she came
to this country in early life and spent her young life at and near
Rome, Wis., in Jefferson county. She was confirmed in the
Lutheran Church in Helenville, Wis., on April 6, 1879; was married
to August Teatz on October 25, 1885 and lived in Jefferson County
on a farm for one year; then moved to Clark County near Lynn.
They lived on their farm there for about 30 years; then moved back
to Jefferson County and lived there on a farm until the time of
their deaths.
Mr.
Teatz died three years ago.
Mrs. Teatz is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Hilda Campbell of Sullivan, Wis., with whom she lived recently.
Three daughters and one son preceded her in death. Fifteen
grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-
grandchild survive.
The funeral was held in Golden Lake Lutheran Church with burial in the adjacent church cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. T. Fussell and daughter of Wausau and Mr. and Mrs. Emroy Groose of Milwaukee were among those from a distance attending.
