Moberg, Arvid E (30 June 1890 - 22 February 1953) 
 

Funeral Services for Arvid E. Moberg, 62, East St. Louis, Ill., who died there Feb. 22 in the Christian  Welfare Hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Grace Methodist Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Virgil Nulton, Neillsville, officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. 
 

Honorary pallbearers, members of the Wallis-Hinker Legion Post, were Leonard Johnson, Harry Stafford, Edwin Johnson, Frank Smaldone, Adelbert Wells and Joseph Klune; active pallbearers were members of the Masonic Lodge - James Plank, Norman Reineking, Louis Behrens, Russell Mead, Julius Hoehne and Richard Thompson.  Mrs. Louis Behrens and Mrs. Chal Perkins sang with Charles Ivey at the organ. 
 

Out-of-town relatives and friends at the services were Mrs. A. E. Moberg and Albert Phelps, East St. Louis, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. John Moberg, Escanaba, Mich.; Mr. J. E. Cronin of Minneapolis and Mr. and Mrs. Elery Moberg and family and James Horswill of Neillsville. 
 

Arvid Moberg, son of the late Ole and Christina Moberg, was born June 30, 1890, in Romsjo, Sweden, and came to this country with his parents, settling in Greenwood at the age of 4.  He received his education in the Greenwood public schools; also at the La Crosse Business College. 
 

As a young man he worked on the Soo Line Railroad in Central Wisconsin.  During World War I he served in the tank corps in France. For the past 12 years he was deputy chief of staff of the Disabled American Veterans from Illinois and adjutant and service officer for East St. Louis Chapter of the D. A. V.  
 

Survivors include his wife, the former Lillian Radke, whom he married Dec. 5, 1925, in Illinois; three brothers: Harry of Abbotsford, James of Escanaba, Mich., and Elery of Neillsville; and one sister, Mrs. J. E. (Levina) Cronin, Minneapolis.  
 

Besides his parents, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.
