St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in thorp was the scene of the wedding at 10 a.m., June 26, 1954 of Miss Alice Klimeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Klimeck, and Mr. John Joseph Lato, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Lato of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.). The Rev. Herbert Zoromski read the double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother Adrian Klimeck. She wore a Chantilly lace and tulle over satin waltz length gown fashioned with illusioned neckline with scalloped lace out bodice. The full gathered skirt styled with redingote opening in front revealing accordion pleats, a silk illusion veil caught to a tiara of pearls and brilliants. She carried red and white roses. While the choir sang, the bride carried a bouquet of Easter lilies and gladiolas to the Blessed Virgin.
Adelia Klimeck, sister of the bride of Union Grove, Wis., was matron of honor. She wore a gown of yellow net over taffeta. Beatrice Meske, a friend of the bride of Milwaukee, was another bridesmaid. She wore a yellow net over taffeta gown.
Junior bridesmaids were Ethel Marie Klimeck, sister of the bride, and Loretta Oberle, friend of the bride. They wore waltz length gowns of blue nylon net and schiflie embroidery over taffeta. Matching blue hats in feather motif were worn. Red and white carnations formed their bouquets.
Charles Kolodziej, a friend of the groom, was best man, and Joseph Lewien, cousin of the groom was groomsman. They wore tuxedos.
The bride’s mother chose a light blue nylon dress with white accessories. The groom’s mother chose a powder blue dress with white accessories.
A dinner and reception were held at Quonset Ballroom to 600 guests.
After a wedding trip to Chicago the couple will live on a farm where the groom is employed by his father.
Out of town relatives that attended were from Canada, Chicago, Milwaukee and Washington, Seldon, Minn.
