A beautiful double ring ceremony took place, June 26, 1954, at 1:30 p.m. at Longwood Emmanuel Lutheran Church.  Crystal Edith Roix, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Roix of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Dale Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Thomas of Greenwood (Clark Co.).  The ceremony was performed by Pastor M. S. Egge.  The bride was given in marriage by her father.

 

She was attired in white slipper satin with a nylon tulle overskirt, four panels of Chantilly lace were inserted in her gown.  The bodice was a Chantilly lace with a scalloped nylon net yoke.  Her only jewelry was a string of pearls.  Her fingertip veil was held in place with a beaded coronet crown.  She carried a bouquet of red and white carantions and roses, centered with four gardenias.  White streamers with lilies of the valley hung from her bouquet.

 

The matron of honor, Mrs. Louis Kermitz, sister of the bride, Wis. Rapids, wore a white net over taffeta, a lace jacket and nylon net headpiece completed her ensemble.  Also white net over taffeta with lace jackets and net headpieces, each varying, were worn by the bridesmaids, Mrs. Ralph Thomas, sister-in-law of the groom of Loyal, and Miss Geraldine Roix, sister of the bride of Owen, all carried horseshoe bouquets of red and white carnations.  Each wore summer jewelry as a gift of the bride.

 

Kathy Swerson, niece of the groom, was flower girl.  She carried a basket of red and white carnations.  She was attired in a white tulle over taffeta with short puffed sleeves and a sheer yoke.  A nylon net headpiece to match her dress was worn.

 

Hebert Roix Jr., brother of the bride, was ring bearer.  He was dressed in a two toned, blue suit.

 

Attendants for the groom were Louis Kermitz of Wis. Rapids as best man.  Groomsmen were Ralph Thomas, brother of the groom, Loyal, and Ronald Schultze, friend of the bride and groom of Thorp.  All wore blue suits with white carnation boutonnieres.

 

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Herbert Roix wore a two pieced dress of lilac nylon shunting with white accessories.  She wore a corsage of yellow carnations.  Mrs. Thomas, mother of the groom, wore an acetate dress of light gray with black accessories and a corsage of yellow carnations.

 

A reception was held at the Longwood Parish Hall for 100 guests.

 

The bride is a graduate of Owen High School, class of 1954.

 

After a short honeymoon they will reside at their home in Spencer.

 

Out of town guests were from Ontario, Wis., Lafarge, Wis., Lyxville, Wis. Viola, Wis., Reedsville, Wis., Greenwood, Wis., Spencer, Wis., Thorp, Wis., Withee, Wis., Marshfield, Wis., and Bertha, Minn.
